From Rio to Every Bathroom Counter: The Emiliv Story
Emiliv Professional began not in a lab, but in a Brazilian salon chair, where founder Rodrigo DaCosta spent over a decade watching stylists work miracles with tools most of the industry had forgotten: rare botanical oils, patient technique, and formulas that treated hair as something to restore, not just style.
Rodrigo grew up around Brazil's hair culture — a country where keratin science and oil-based treatments aren't trends, they're inheritance. He watched his mother and aunts prepare hair oils at home the way other families passed down recipes, and later, as a stylist himself, he saw how those same traditions, refined with modern technique, could outperform anything on a professional shelf.
The problem, as Rodrigo saw it, wasn't the formula. It was access. Salon-grade Brazilian treatments stayed locked behind salon doors — expensive, appointment-only, and out of reach for the people who needed them most. So he spent years perfecting a single blend: ten oils, each chosen for a distinct role in strengthening, smoothing, or repairing hair, combined into one proprietary formula that could travel from professional treatment rooms into everyday routines without losing an ounce of potency.
That formula became Emiliv Professional.
Today, that same commitment carries through everything we make — from our keratin treatments to our HairBotox line to the home care kits that let anyone recreate a salon result in their own bathroom. We still work hand-in-hand with the stylists who inspired this brand, which is part of why our recent expansion into New York City salons feels like coming full circle: Brazilian tradition, professional trust, and neighborhood accessibility, together in one city.
